At northAmerican, community is a big part of what we are – both helping the people we live and work with, and protecting the world we live and work in. On a national and local basis, northAmerican agents and their employees actively support organizations that assist our wounded veterans, help feed the hungry and provide individuals with independence through housing, not to mention the hundreds of organizations supported by our agents in their local communities.
And environmentally speaking, northAmerican is doing its part to reduce our carbon footprint, limit the overuse of landfills, and preserve nature. We actively facilitate the donating of gently used homegoods and building supplies to local Habitat ReStores, and eliminate the need for paper – and save trees – through adoption of a virtually paperless moving process.
And what’s more, donations to Move for Hunger and Habitat ReStores by your employees help reduce the weight – and possibly the cost – of their move. So by helping the community, you’re also helping your company and your employee.
- The Gary Sinise Foundation. Since 2014, northAmerican has been the official moving part of the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment). RISE provides severely wounded heroes and their families with SMART homes, specially designed for each recipient’s unique life challenges. northAmerican, our agent partners, drivers and crews, are honored and humbled to play a small role in helping these heroes increase their mobility and reclaim their self-reliance.
- Move for Hunger. northAmerican agents have been active supporters of Move for Hunger since 2011. From facilitating the donation of non-perishable food items from our moving customers to local food banks, to generating hunger awareness in the communities we live and work, northAmerican agents and their teams are proud to be making a small contribution to eradicating hunger in our country.
- Habitat for Humanity ReStores. Since 2013, northAmerican has been helping Habitat for Humanity in its mission to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter by facilitating the donation of our customers’ gently used household goods and building materials to area Habitat ReStores. We are honored to have the opportunity to support an organization that does so much to help so many.

Going paperless to support the environment. For several years, northAmerican has been investing in technology to reduce our carbon footprint by eliminating paper documents from the moving process.
