What a Move to Greensboro Has to Offer

Greensboro is the third-largest city in North Carolina in terms of population. The U.S. Census estimates that the city had a population of just over 277,000 residents in 2012. One reason people choose to live in Greensboro is its location near Interstate 73, Interstate 40 and Interstate 85. This makes getting around and visiting other areas of North Carolina a breeze. Greensboro is also located directly between the Great Smoky Mountains to the west and the Outer Banks and Atlantic Ocean beaches to the east, which give residents a lot to explore without having to travel too far from home.

Much like other southeastern cities in the country, Greensboro has a subtropical climate and enjoys four very distinct seasons. Winter doesn't last long and isn't extremely cold. For example, the daily average for the month of January is 38.9 degrees Fahrenheit, but residents still enjoy an average snowfall of 7.5 inches, which generally falls between January and February.

There are a number of attractions in Greensboro to see as well, including the Bog Garden, which is only accessible via an elevated boardwalk. While the entire garden is 1.06 miles, the boardwalk itself is only about half of a mile in length. When enjoying the trails around the Bog Garden, visitors can see a thriving wetland ecosystem of plants and animals.

Located near the Bog Garden, the Bicentennial Garden is another attraction that was established in 1976 to commemorate the U.S. bicentennial. The garden contains 1.25 miles of paved trails that wind along outdoor sculptures and flowers. History buffs may also want to check out the International Civil Rights Center and Museum. Its collection was first put on display in 2010 by Sit-in Movement, Inc. to commemorate the American Civil Rights movement in Greensboro.

Reviews from north-carolina Customers

  • I was very satisfied w/the move, the pick was very good. I was very comfortable & everything went as planned.
  • The politeness of the coordinators and packers. The packers asked questions about which items were to be left out or packed in the apt. box. The packers were courteous and polite.
  • The professionalism of the driver, crew and representative who came to my home. They were all good people to work with.
  • The overall move was fine. The crew while unloading did a great job and were courteous. The crew also were agreeable.
  • They communicated well, handled my property and accommodated my schedule, arrived early upon request and that was great.
  • Everything that I was told that would be done was done because everything was dropped off as promised.
  • The ease of communicating with the coordinator. The person was easy to reach and always returned my call.
  • The communication between the move coordinator and the drivers professional behavior and the helpful tips. There was continuous communication between the coordinator and myself.
  • There is a difference between local and out of state moves. I think local movers are less expensive, but don't have the capabilities to do a long distance move. North American stored my furniture in their warehouse for about 3 months and most local don't have that capability. There was some damage but it was minimal. They did a good job.
