Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada & northAmerican Moving Services

Trees of JoyChildren’s Wish Foundation of Canada celebrated its second annual Trees of Joy event last month in Toronto, ON. Hosted by the historic Fairmont Royal York in connection with their annual tree lighting, Children’s Wish allows Canadian children to celebrate the holiday season a little bit early. Trees of Joy was established to allow corporate partners the opportunity to experience the direct impact of their donations by meeting wish children and families. On November 24th, Children’s Wish granted wishes for more than just their wish children. They allowed corporate partners the unique opportunity to not only help grant the wish of a wish child, but to meet the child in person, feeling the direct impact of making a child’s dream come true.

“Children’s Wish is very pleased to partner with northAmerican Moving Services to bring joy to our wish children and their families this holiday season,” said Tiffany MacDonald, regional director, Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. “The company has supported us in many ways throughout the years including I’, but Trees of Joy has quickly become a widely anticipated holiday tradition that our wish children can hardly ever wait for!”

Christmas -Red-TreeTrees of Joy may only be in its second year, but Children’s Wish has established an impressive group of sixteen corporate partners to grant the wishes of sixteen children! That’s double the wishes granted in the event’s inaugural year. northAmerican’s involvement in Children’s Wish may continue to grow deeper as new events blossom, but it’s commitment to the foundation is strong and built on nearly twenty years. “northAmerican Moving Services and the Canadian agency network came through once again for the Children’s Wish Foundation ‘Trees of Joy’ event and since 1998 NAVL has been involved in events that have raised over one million dollars for CWF. Thanks to all corporate partners that were part of this amazing annual event that brings joy to a lot of children at Christmas time.” – Kevin Devereux – northAmerican Moving Services.

Marcus, now 13 years old, was only 10 when he was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma; it was in his spleen, lymph nodes, and bones. He endured three surgeries and seven months of intense chemotherapy and he is now in remission.  Marcus’s wish is to go to a Chicago Blackhawks game and to hopefully meet the team!

I cannot even begin to explain how your generous contributions and support to Children’s Wish impact the lives of so many deserving, beautiful, yet hurting sick children like my son. Know your contributions are not just that alone, but are lifelines to instilling hope, joy, happiness, wonder, anticipation, excitement and heartfelt gratitude in lives of many families.

On behalf  of my family and all the children and families directly involved in being granted a wish, we thank you sincerely, gratefully, and heartfully for your generosity for helping to give these hurting children renewed hope, happiness, a smile, and a wish come true,” Marcus’s mom Monique said.

Although Children’s Wish is supported throughout Canada, Trees of Joy allows several of our Ontario northAmerican Agents to be involved on a more personal level. Three of our Ontario Agents, including Phillips Moving & Storage, Perfect Packers and Bedwell Van Lines represented northAmerican on the event day from start to finish. From decorating Marcus’ custom tree to the Fairmont Royal York tree lighting to the Big Tree Reveal, these three Agents were humbled and proud to be involved with an incredibly generous organization. “One of the most satisfying parts of owning a business is being able to support and give back to your community. The whole team at Phillips Moving was very pleased to participate in the Children’s Wish Foundation ‘Trees of Joy’ event,” said Peter McCullough, Owner – Phillips Moving. And taking their involvement one step further, each of these NAVL Agents delivered each tree to its belonging wish child the day after the event. From carefully packing to moving to setting up the tree in its new home – northAmerican Moving Service Agents are committed to every move we make.
