The Gary Sinise Foundation

The Gary Sinise Foundation serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. They do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities. Through their R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program, the Gary Sinise Foundation is building custom “smart homes” for severely wounded veterans and their families nationwide. Thus far, the Foundation has begun construction preparation, broken ground, or completed over thirty-three homes with more being added for 2016 and beyond.

As the Official Moving Partner of the Gary Sinise Foundation, northAmerican transports all of the furniture, specially selected for Gary Sinise Foundation “Smart Homes”, to veterans that have been severely wounded in combat and their families. Through the service donations of our agents, northAmerican made four such deliveries in 2014, and will be making up to 11 deliveries in 2015. Learn More

Go North Habitat ReStore Donation Program

In June 2014, northAmerican joined forces with Habitat for Humanity to create the first and only national donation program between Habitat ReStore resale outlets and the moving services industry. Through this program, northAmerican agents collect donations of gently used or unwanted furniture and household items from their customers. Working with their local Habitat ReStore, our agents then transport those items to the ReStore, where they are used to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, community and hope in neighborhoods across the country. Since the program’s inception, northAmerican has provided Habitat for HumanityInternational with over $30,000* in in-kind donations, and over $5,000 in direct support to Habitat affiliates.
