MICHIGAN TRUCK DRIVER WINS NORTH AMERICAN VAN OPERATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
CHICAGO, April 15, 2010 – North American Van Lines Inc., one of the world’s largest moving companies and a subsidiary of SIRVA Inc., announced its 2009 Van Operator of the Year as Bill Gademan of Palmer Moving and Storage Company in Warren, Mich. Bill was selected from a group of over 1,000 qualified North American Van Lines haulers based on his 2009 quality scores, claims frequency and safety record.
Following in the foot steps of his father, who was also a northAmerican driver, Bill joined the North American Van Lines fleet in 1984. He started driving for Palmer Moving and Storage, a Detroit-area moving company, eight years ago.
“Last year, Bill’s quality scores were a perfect 5.0 out of 5.0, which is extremely commendable,” said Dan Robertson, general manager of North American Van Lines. “We’re honoring Bill with this award because of his unwavering dedication to our customers. We feel privileged to have him as a part of our fleet.”
To become a northAmerican Van Operator of the Year nominee, a driver must first be honored with VanGuard status and then chosen as a Van Operator of the Month. The Van Operator of the Month award winners are then evaluated based on quality scores, claims frequency, safety record and other performance metrics for the prior year. One North American Van Lines driver is chosen each year to receive the Van Operator of the Year Award and is honored at the company’s annual operations conference. The winning driver also receives a custom leather jacket and watch, truck decals and other “perks.”
