What a Move to Smyrna Has to Offer

Known as the Jonquil City, Smyrna is located in Cobb County just northwest of Atlanta. According to 2010 Census data, 51,271 people live within the city’s 15.35-square miles of land. The median household income of $58,157 is somewhat higher than the state level of $49,179. In a 2014 study, Smyrna was ranked fourth in Best Cities for Young Adults in Georgia.

The city was incorporated in 1872. The Smyrna Welcome Center highlights the area’s rich history. The center is located in what was Aunt Fanny’s Cabin, a restaurant that opened in 1941 and served celebrities, political figures and locals for more than 50 years.

With the creation of the Village Green in the mid-1980s, city officials preserved Smyrna’s personality against suburban sprawl. Made up of a public library, community center, private homes and retail and office space, the Village Green offers landscaped areas with brick walkways and a central fountain. The space hosts concerts, festivals and other events throughout the year.

In 2005, the city began a major undertaking to renovate existing parks and create new ones. Along with fields for organized sports such as soccer, baseball and softball, neighborhood parks have playgrounds, trails for cycling and walking and areas for picnics and community gardens. Two dog parks have friendly space for pets to enjoy the city’s landscape.

The community center in the city features two gyms that host adult and youth league basketball games. It also has a walking track, fitness area and three racquetball courts. The center hosts a variety of fitness classes for all ages. Another city facility, the Wolfe Center, is designed specifically for older adults and features a therapy pool.

Smyrna is located in the Piedmont region of Georgia. Just northwest of the Chattahoochee River, it has narrow valleys and gently sloping hills. The average high temperature in July is 89 degrees Fahrenheit with an average low of 34 in January.

Reviews from georgia Customers

  • I love North American. I've used North American b/f. North American is efficient, on time, everything just fine.
  • The driver was more professional than people in office. If reps would follow through and see how cust is doing.
  • The communication throughout the process but the weight was overestemated. I came in under the weight and I would have preferred the price be adjustedright away instead of waiting for a refund.
  • The driver was awesome and even got my stuff here early. The estimator was great and the driver super conscientious, cared about my things as if they were his own.
  • I had the same pair of men who packed, loaded, and unloaded and they were on time, respectful, and treated my items with care.
